What is coaching? What can I get?

Let me share what some of my clients said:

Ready to take action?

I was miserable, burned out, unable to work.

I understand if you are skeptical. Even though I had intense anger that woke me up every night (2 am!) for months, I never considered discussing my issues with a stranger (including a counselor).

I dove headfirst into self-help, trying everything from staring at myself in the mirror and mumbling “I love you” (without much conviction) to attempting meditation (falling asleep within a minute or feeling too restless to continue). I dedicated years to these practices, not knowing any other means to cope with my struggles. It was literally a full-time job.

Life Coach?

Then one day, while listening to yet another self-help podcast, I stumbled upon ‘life coaching.’ I was desperate … it still took me a while to jump in, but I’m so glad I did give it a try—it was a game-changer for me!

At first, coaching confronted me with the reality.
It was both devastating and startling!
I realized that I had no idea about
what I want
what happy, joy look like,
my boundaries
healthy relationship
and more.

Confidence Surged and Clarity Sharpened

Through coaching, I found myself again.
Here are some changes:

Example 1:
Before: I thought of going for a walk and started to get ready, but soon, doubts crept in about whether I truly wanted to. I found myself half-dressed in leggings and a button-up shirt, feeling exhausted. TWO HOURS had already passed! I felt miserable and cried inside. “Why can’t I make up my mind!”
After: I can choose what I need the most at the moment. Even if I fall into the trap of overthinking, I can return to the present.

Example 2:
Before: I could only acknowledge abuse when it was evident from external signs like bruises or swellings.
After: I can face the truth head-on: I endured various forms of abuse by avoiding reality, convincing myself to see the positive aspects of the situation, and believing I had to find happiness with what I was given.

Example 3:
Before: I was too afraid to be seen. I did everything to avoid meeting people, being seen, and being heard. I did not make eye contact. Starting a business? No way in a million years!
After: Look at my website! I’ve earned two life coaching certificates and now offer coaching services.

Life coaching became my best and fastest path to clarity, energy, and growth. What I needed was someone genuinely curious about me, my feelings, thoughts, wants, and needs, without expectations or agenda to correct me. Unlike therapists, a coach doesn’t offer me their opinion without my permission.
I realized that feedback or even suggestions from therapists felt like “another order to correct me from another authority figure,” triggering past trauma and making me feel controlled. While other’s inputs were necessary, this approach was a double-edged sword for me.

If you’ve experienced trauma in the past, especially relational mistreatment where you had to suppress your feelings and opinions for survival, coaching could be highly beneficial for you, just as it has been for me.

Why does coaching work?

Coaching excels in assisting you in setting and achieving goals you want to accomplish, leading you to gain momentum and likely to feel tangible actual progress. The focus is on you, not your past, or symptoms or people who mistreated you, but you.
Coaching is more action-oriented. As you take action, you gain confidence and clarity.
I, as a recipient and client of other professional coaches, feel utmost confident and satisfied with the conclusions drawn during the coaching sessions.

If you’re excessively accommodating to your surroundings and often feel disconnected from your own thoughts and feelings, it’ll be worth giving it a try. Quality questions from me without judgment can be a powerful way for you to reconnect with yourself, allowing you to discover what you really want: your own truths.

Rest assured, our conversations are completely confidential, as I am bound by professional confidentiality.

As a dedicated learner constantly acquiring new skills to benefit myself and others, I integrate these skills into my coaching practice to help expedite progress and shorten the path to achieving your goals. I can serve as your accountability partner if you so choose, helping you stay focused and on track.

What is the difference between coaching and counseling (therapy)?

Coaching is more geared towards the present and future, excelling in assisting clients in identifying their goals, achieving better performance, and enhancing overall life satisfaction.
Therapy is typically geared towards healing past issues and traumas, often involving exploring past experiences, emotions, and thought patterns to gain greater insight and promote healing.
